Competition Venue

Canada Games Pool & Tournament Capital Centre

The Canada Games Pool is located in Kamloops at 910 McGill Road, just west of Thompson Rivers University (TRU). The pool will host all four disciplines of the BCSSA. The swimming portion of the meet will be run as a double-ended meet for heats and single-ended for finals.

Marshalling is planned to be under cover outside of the junior pool at the NORTH end.  Day tenting will be available in the parking lot directly east of the pool. The field house which was used in 2014 will be under construction so there will be absolutely no public access to this area.

Several food trucks will also be on site including Cheffrey911, Ken's Mobile Catering and Blender Blender. There is ample parking within walking distance to the pool. Please use designated crosswalks only.

You can find a map and detailed driving directions to the TRU campus here. TRU Directions>>

Accommodations & RV/Camping

Unfortunately, due to construction on campus, TRU is unable to provide RV camping on site. We encourage everyone who was planning on camping to find alternative arrangements as soon as possible. A list of nearby campgrounds can be found HERE.

BCSSA has partnered with a a number of hotels in Kamloops to provide special rates for our members. More information can be found HERE. Inquiries should be directed to each individual property for rate and booking information. We suggest members book rooms well in advance, as it can be difficult to find vacant hotel rooms in the busy summer season.

Surrounding Area Amenities

Located just off campus from Thompson River University, all the amenities a student would appreciate are within close proximity of the the Canada Games Pool.

Aberdeen Mall is located 10 minutes southwest of the Pool. Not only does it have several restaurants and retail stores, it also has a Cineplex movie theatre.

Just east of the pool are the Sahali Centre Mall, Summit Shopping Center, and Columbia Place Shopping Centers. Between the trio, you have access to popular grocery stores including: Safeway, Save-on-Foods, and Superstore. If you'd rather eat out, numerous restaurant options are available including: Red Robin, Boston Pizza, Jamaican Kitchen, and Tiger Ramen. And for those who just want a snack, Booster Juice, Bulk Barn, and Starbucks have locations as well.

Finally, for those who prefer to pass on the shopping opportunities, Riverside Park is only a 10 minutes northwest of the pool. Not only will you be able to lounge on the beaches of the South Thompson River, the park also features lawn bowling, tennis courts, and a water park. Just minutes from downtime, you can cap off your day with an exploration of the city center.
